GaurdPoint10 Log Files

GuardPoint10 does not have a separate log file per day. Instead, there is only one "Log.txt" file per service, with a size limit of 2MB for each log type.

Here are the locations of the log files for each service:

  • AcsNMService: C:\ProgramData\ACS\NM\log.txt
  • AcsServer: C:\Program Files (x86)\GuardPoint10\AcsServer\log.txt
  • AcsWatchDog: C:\ProgramData\ACS\AcsWatchDog\Log.txt
  • AcsSuprema: C:\Program Files (x86)\GuardPoint10\NM\Suprema\log.txt
  • GUI: C:\Program Data\ACS\GUI\Log.txt

To view the Program Data folder, go to Control Panel > Search area > type "Folder" > File Explorer Options > Show hidden files and folders > View > Advanced settings > Hidden files and folders > Show hidden files, folders, and drives > Apply > OK.

Note that the GUI is not installed under Program Files (x86) to avoid permission issues with Administrator rights, but the NMService and the AcsServer are installed with Administrator rights.

You can open the log files using the "Notepad++" software. Additionally, all the log files are copied in the LOG table of the "AC8Journal" database, which can be viewed via the SQL Studio or the "Log4View" software. The LOG table is cleaned every day to keep a maximum of 100K lines.

In the "Options/System & SQL" screen of GuardPoint10, you can find the System Log Levels options, which allow you to define the log level of each service. For example, the "Error" level will write only the errors, while the "Debug" level will write all the information.

Finally, it is possible to write logs during the GuardPoint10 installation setup. To do so, open the Windows Explorer, go to the setup file folder, press shift + right-click with the mouse, and choose "Open PowerShell window here." Then type ".\GuardPoint10.1.30.1.exe -l log.txt" (or equivalent GP10 .exe name), and the logs will be written in the log.txt file in the same folder.
