First Steps

You will need to have Administrator privileges to install GP10. Also make sure any pending Windows updates are installed.

When you first launch the GP10 installer, it will ask you for a param code. Enter the code jisTio1 and click OK.

If GP10 has already been installed on the machine, you may not see this screen.

Next read through the licence agreement terms and click the checkbox.

You should now see the main installation screen.

If you want to install GP10 as a server, continue reading below.
If you instead want to install as a client only - known in GP10 as a Workstation - skip to GP10 Workstation Installation

GP10 Server Installation

Default Server Options

Click Full Installation to install the with all default options, and accept any popups that appear.

GP10 will be installed into the C:\Program Files (x86)\GuardPoint10 folder.

MS SQL will be automatically installed as well. If an SQL database already exists from a previous GP10 installation, GP10 will automatically connect to it, otherwise a new SQL database will be created.

Advanced Server Options

If you need to change the installation folder or connect to a remote SQL server, click Advance Installation

To connect to a remote SQL server, click the Select an existing SQL Server radio button and fill in the server details.

Once the connection is tested and working, click Install.

Continue on to Final steps.

GP10 Workstation Installation

Default Workstation Options

Click Workstation Installation

The installer will then search the network for available GP10 servers. Select the server when it appears and click Install.

GP10 will be installed into the C:\Program Files (x86)\GuardPoint10 directory.

Advanced Workstation Options

If you need to change the installation folder, click Advance Installation.

After you've made any changes, click the Workstation radio button.

The installer will then search the network for available GP10 servers. Select the server when it appears and click Install.

Final steps

When GP10 has been successfully installed, you will need to restart the machine. You can either click the Restart button or manually restart.

After you restart, you may need to accept some UAC and Firewall popups.

If you installed GP10 as a server, you should see the GP10 Watchdog program should start running. This program ensures the services used by the GP10 server keep running.

You can now start GP10. It should automatically connect to the SQL database. The default username and password is admin.

Uninstallation

To uninstall GP10, you can either run the installer file again or use the built-in program manager in Windows Settings.

Demo Mode

Demo mode allows you to test all the extra features and modules in GP10 with a limited number of cardholders.
If you want to install GP10 in Demo mode, use the param code jisTio.

If GP10 has been previously installed on the machine, you may not get the Param code screen.

In this case, go to C:\ProgramData\ACS\ACS.WService and delete the file named ACS.WService.license.

If you had a paid licence for the GP10 installation, back up the file instead.

You should now get the Param code screen when you start the installer.

If you want to switch to normal GP10, you will need to uninstall GP10 and delete the file as above.
You can then follow the instructions from the top as normal.

Troubleshooting

Most issues are caused by network connection problems or pending Windows updates.

If you're installing GP10 as a server with an external SQL connection, make sure the GP10 machine can reach the SQL server over the network.

If you're installing GP10 as a workstation, make sure the workstation machine can reach the GP10 server machine over the network.
